Not Goodbye... See you Later!

Tonight my friend Danelle came over for our last hang out of the summer before she heads out to Arizona to attend Vet School.  I am so darn excited for her, but sad for me and our pets!!  Nelle has been working towards getting in to Vet School for the past many years taking classes at ECSU and SCSU.  All of her hard work has finally paid off as she got accepted into Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ.  I cannot wait for her to experience this new adventure, but I will definitely miss being able to get together with her whenever I want!!

Before Nelle left tonight, she had to get in a few last minute snuggles with her favorite Husky and Fat Cat!

Off to Grandma and Grandpa's

Daddy had to work a Frito Lay Open House event this afternoon so while he was there, we hopped on over to Grandma and Grandpa's house for a visit.  While we were on our way there, AJ made sure to let me know that he was very excited for the one book that Grandma and Grandpa have.  He remembered it was yellow and about animals.  It's been some time since we have made our way up to Killingly to their house, but apparently no time that passed could erase that exciting book from his memory!

Playtime with some toys and a changing pad!

Hanging with his buddy, Grandpa

The tv was very interesting.

Like Grandfather, like Grandson

These two love each other!

Meanwhile, Chloe tried to escape all the fun and hide under the chair.

I see you!

What a cutie!

After a bit of playing, Grandma and Grandpa offered to watch the kiddos so I could go to the Open House (thank you!).  Frito had finally opened their manufacturing facility and warehouse up for tours so I jumped on the opportunity.  It was really cool to finally see the place that my husband spends the majority of his days.  The facility is just amazing and huge!  After touring the plant, we then went outside and grabbed a bite to eat and karate chopped some wood...because why not?!  Although - I will admit, best part of the tour?  Eating a hot dorito right off of one of the Dorito lines!  Yum!

Skinny Jeans

I never thought I would say this, but I am actually trying to new trend of skinny jeans.  I bought my first pair today and figured I would try them out tonight.  I mustered up the courage to put them on and take a selfie to see how they look.  It's going to take a little getting used to, but I think I might end up liking the skinny fit!

My three part wall hanging is finally complete (with the exception of a cute sign, which I have yet to find!)!

Cosmic Run

Tonight Carrie and I drove up to Rentschler Field for the Cosmic Run 5k.  We were super excited about it, but not so excited about the freezing cold weather!!  It had great potential - it was kind of like the Color Me Rad 5k I did last year, but was at night time and had black lights and glow in the dark color stations.  But unfortunately, I'm not sure if it was poor planning or just volunteers who got a bit excited during the beginning, but by the time we got to the color stations all of the glow powder was already gone.  Such a bummer.  And then the course was a bit muddy and rocky and absolutely did a number on my feet.  And lastly, the finish was so anti-climatic because there was no actual finish line - just a tent-type thing where everyone was gathering under to take pictures.  The one awesome thing about the 5k though was the loud electronic dance music - it was great jogging/walking to the EDM - it kept our spirit levels up even though we were a bit disappointed with the whole event.  We're not sure if we'll do it again or not....  Like Carrie and I said - AWESOME idea, terrible execution!

At the end of the day though, it was nice to be able to get out for a few hours with a great friend and then go out to dinner afterwards in Manchester!

Waiting at the start line

Along the 5k route, the woods were lit up with fluorescent lights... it was really neat!

At one of the black light stations where there was supposed to be glow powder,
but alas there was none.

Walking through the stadium

The 'finish line' area

Cool electronic dance music concert to top off the 5k

Too bad we took the picture and then headed out to dinner instead!

4B Fest

Michael and I, along with Lauren and Matt and Michael's co-worker Josh and his fiance, Kim all met up with another of Michael's co-workers, Scott and his wife, Terri for an evening at the First Annual 4B Fest in New Haven.  What is the 4B Fest, you ask?  Only the coolest festival consisting of beers, bacon, bourbon and barbeque!  We had high expectations of the fest and they weren't exactly meet all the way, but we had great company so it was a fun night all around!  Michael participated in a bacon eating contest - his favorite thing in the world and we came home with a couple dozen cupcakes that were adorned with bacon.  I'd say it was a win-win all around!

Trailblazer!

In the words of Cioci Kimmy... I am a trailblazer!!  When I had AJ, I broke the girls trend in our family.  And now with my sweet little Chloe, I have broken the doubles trend!  I like to be a leader apparently.. not a follower!

Hello Swollen Feet!

With only two days until my due date, the swelling is not letting up!  Look at those hot fat toes and cankles!

39 Weeks

The swelling in my feet and ankles keeps getting worse.  My right hand is now starting to go numb and get tingly during bedtime.  But my LS2 is still on the move!!  I saw Dr. Inducer, I mean Dr. Brown yesterday at my appointment and we had the talk about how long they will let me go (41 weeks) and that if I haven't gone by my appointment next week we will schedule an induction. I'm really hoping to go naturally this time around so we will see what happens next week.  He checked the baby's heartbeat and I believe it was in the 140s and the baby is still head down!  I also got checked for dilation and the only news I got was that my cervix is soft, but no dilation yet.  So.... another week will go by and I will savor these last weeks of pregnancy with my LS2 in my belly.

And in the words of my oh-so-eloquent sister when I posed for these pictures.. 'Wow, you've definitely popped! You look huge!'

38 Weeks

When I say that my swelling is in full-force.. I'm not kidding.  Check out my awesome feet and cankles (can I still even call them that?!)!

LS2 is still super active which leads me to believe he/she has no interest in coming out anytime soon. At yesterday's appointment I was measuring right at 38 weeks and LS2's heartbeat was in the 140s.  I'm definitely feeling A LOT more pressure these days so who knows when LS2 will make his/her appearance... will it be sooner rather than later?! Only time will tell!  Until then, I'll enjoy these last few weeks of feeling the baby kicks and rubbing my belly!

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to have my picture taken this week.  So disappointed in myself! :(

Day at Cioci Kimmy's

Katie had her first field trip today so I helped out Cioci Kimmy by watching Maddie this morning so she could chaperone.  And although Maddie napped for most of the time AJ and I were there because she isn't feeling so great, cousin playtime ensued after the woke up!

I am the baby whisperer!  I got Maddie down for a nap within 5 minutes!

Then AJ and I headed outside for some quality Mommy and AJ time

Weee!

Next it was bouncy time on the trampoline!

Next it was time to push the big ball swing around.

And finally some swing time before going inside!

Flying 'Super Why High!'

Look who woke up?!

Beautiful Maddie-Bear

Cousin love!!

Playing together with the Sesame Street toy

Time to stack blocks!

Concentrating

Cheesing on the chair

So much fun with these two little ones!
