Jonny concert!

So not only did this Blizzard cause us to shorten our vacation, but it was threatening our chance to Bon Jovi in concert!!  And on opening night of their tour, nonetheless!!  My sister had bought the tickets months ago and the concert was tonight.  In the aftermath of a blizzard.  With a travel ban on all roads by the Governor.  It wasn't seeming like it was going to happen.  We not-so-patiently watched Mohegan Sun's website and facebook status and Bon Jovi's facebook status all. day. long.  Finally around 4pm, the Governor lifted the travel ban, which just so happened to be the time that Bon Jovi and MoSun announced that the concert would be postponed to October 25th.  Phew!  We wouldn't miss it!!  But wait...just a few minutes later, Richie Sambora tweeted that they would be putting on a free concert at 5pm for all of those who were already at the Sun!  Well, if you know my sister and her love for Bon Jovi - she wouldn't dare miss out on a local Bon Jovi concert...and a 'free' one nonetheless!  So we bundled up our little AJ, got into the 4Runner and headed off to Colchester to pick up Kimmy!  The roads weren't all that bad and we safely made it to the Sun around 5:30pm and walked right into the arena.  It was so strange to just walk right in with not having to show a ticket or anything!

All bundled up and ready to go pick up Cioci to see her favorite man, Jonny!

Michael dropped off AJ at Babcia and Dziadzi's house where he would be safe and off the roads.  Luckily, Michael made it back in time for the last song...'Livin on a Prayer'!

Sweet Deal!

My niece Katie's preschool closed up shop after 8 years and Miss Deana (Katie's teacher) decided to sell off almost everything she has.  As sad as it is that she is selling everything, we completely made out like bandits!  Cioci Kimmy, Babcia and myself couldn't stop ourselves!  For AJ I got a bunch of wooden puzzles, some little people toys, some books, a little tikes playground that normally retails for $800 for only $20, a little tikes kitchen set that retails for around $200 for $20, a little tikes workshop and various other little things.  Cioci Kimmy got a playhouse that retails for around $300 for only $10 and various other little toys.  Babcia got six kid sized chairs, circle time mats and some little people toys.  And can you guess how much we paid for all of it?? Only $130!!  We are bargain shoppers to the max!!

AJ's Baptism

Today our family and friends all gathered at St. Mary Church to witness AJ's Baptism.  Kimberly and Jason are his God-parents and the baptism was performed by Father Tito, who also presided over our wedding ceremony.  As usual, he provided some entertainment for us... at our wedding, it was about a man marrying a horse and today it was him answering his cell phone during AJ's baptism.  We think he answered it due to him being on-call for the hospital, but we still all sat there in disbelief as he stepped aside to answer his cell phone during the service.  But either way, at the end of the day, AJ was baptized and he has the best God-parents!  :)

Showered With Love

I woke up this morning and I was feeling a bit snoopy!  Based on some information I had heard from a friend a while back, who shall remain nameless for fear of getting in trouble with Kimmy, I had determined that this was the weekend of my surprise baby shower.  I wasn't sure if it was Saturday or Sunday though - Michael and I had events scheduled for both days so I was a little confused as to what event was the cover-up.   Was it Conner and Cameron's birthday party today or was it my goddaughter Lilly's First Communion tomorrow?!  Both seemed like legit events, but I was still convinced one of them was a cover-up!

So, of course, me being the snoopy sniffer I am, I called Kimmy to find out what she was doing.  She told me she had just put Allie down for a nap and Jason and her were going outside to cut the lawn since it was supposed to rain later in the day.  (True story - it was supposed to rain!)  So then I'm thinking, hmmm... that sounds kinda fishy - Kimmy is usually the one to cut the lawn, not Jason.  So off I go to call my mom.  I call the house and no one answers.  I call her cell phone and she picks up! She tells me she's at the Town of Sprague Plant Sale, but the sound emitting from the phone did not scream plant sale to me.  It was very quiet in the background and her voice echoed a bit, almost like she was in a big, empty room.  A big, empty room where she would be setting up for my shower!!!  BINGO!!!  Today was the day!

So I went about getting ready for the day and kept asking Michael questions to try and get him to crack, but he held the secret in so well!  We finally were on our way to Conner and Cameron's birthday party, but somehow we needed to stop at the Town of Sprague Senior Center....oh that's right - because that's where my shower was! YAY!!!!   We went up in the elevator and once the door opened I was overwhelmed!  There were some shouts of 'SURPRISE' and lots of friendly faces with beautiful smiles and the presents... oh boy, were there presents!! :)

The AWESOME invitation that goes along with our nursery theme

I told you there were LOTS of presents - Baby Sevigny is so spoiled already!

I was a princess for the day with my crown and sash!

As you can see, our baby shower was absolutely perfect!  We were so overwhelmed with the love and generosity shown to us by all of our family and friends - Baby Sevigny is already so loved and so spoiled rotten!!  Thank you to everyone who made our day so special - we are forever grateful to you all!
