Snow, snow everywhere!
Although a bunch of the snow has melted from the Blizzard due to the rain we've been having, there's still a lot leftover!
Fun in the Rainy Snow
I definitely did not win mother of the year status this winter for taking AJ out in the snow! It was only today - a few days after the blizzard - that I took AJ outside to experience the snow that had fallen. I felt like if I took him out before some of the snow had melted, I would have lost my son in the white abyss! The snow was so stinkin' tall - taller than my AJ! So even though it was a bit rainy today, we still went out and had fun in the rainy snow anyway!
My little man was so happy to be outside in the fresh air!
'Whoa.. that's a lot of white stuff'
Even with everything that had melted already, the snow was still almost as tall as AJ!
Hi mom!
He had a little fall while trying to navigate the slushy mess which explains his wet bottom!
Playing with his beach toys in the snow.
Filling up his snow castle mold...
Mommy showed him how to make snow castles!
And AJ proceeded to try and demolish those snow castles with his shovel!
So excited!
Look at that face.. he was clearly trying to get away with something!
And he completely demolished all of them! Sad Mommy!
Running around.
Then he found a huge puddle of melted snow which he thought was super fun to play in.
More running around!
Time to inspect the rocks under the snow.
He had another little slip on the slush, but luckily he didn't get hurt.
My heart.
His hands look so cold, but he refused to wear gloves!
Inspecting the driveway.
I just love this side profile shot of him.
Now it was time to play with his truck...
..Off it goes!
'Look how far it went Mom!'
'I hear something...'
'I see something too!'
We found the birds on the feeder... they were quite sing-songy today! Hopefully spring is coming soon!

Jonny concert!
So not only did this Blizzard cause us to shorten our vacation, but it was threatening our chance to Bon Jovi in concert!! And on opening night of their tour, nonetheless!! My sister had bought the tickets months ago and the concert was tonight. In the aftermath of a blizzard. With a travel ban on all roads by the Governor. It wasn't seeming like it was going to happen. We not-so-patiently watched Mohegan Sun's website and facebook status and Bon Jovi's facebook status all. day. long. Finally around 4pm, the Governor lifted the travel ban, which just so happened to be the time that Bon Jovi and MoSun announced that the concert would be postponed to October 25th. Phew! We wouldn't miss it!! But wait...just a few minutes later, Richie Sambora tweeted that they would be putting on a free concert at 5pm for all of those who were already at the Sun! Well, if you know my sister and her love for Bon Jovi - she wouldn't dare miss out on a local Bon Jovi concert...and a 'free' one nonetheless! So we bundled up our little AJ, got into the 4Runner and headed off to Colchester to pick up Kimmy! The roads weren't all that bad and we safely made it to the Sun around 5:30pm and walked right into the arena. It was so strange to just walk right in with not having to show a ticket or anything!
All bundled up and ready to go pick up Cioci to see her favorite man, Jonny!
We first went down to the floor...just because we could!
A little overexposed Jonny, but still our Jonny!
We then decided to go up in the seats to get a better view...
He always puts on a good show!
Jonny came down onto the catwalk for a few songs.
The classic 'Wanted Dead or Alive' shot
Michael dropped off AJ at Babcia and Dziadzi's house where he would be safe and off the roads. Luckily, Michael made it back in time for the last song...'Livin on a Prayer'!
The boys!
Aftermath of Blizzard 2013
We woke up this morning to about 25-30 inches of snow outside!! Even after going outside last night and shoveling about five inches of snow, when we got up this morning you couldn't even tell I had done anything... It was like my hard work was all just a dream!
Michael ready to brave the aftermath...
The untouched beauty of 25-30 inches of snow.
Trying to dig us out...
It's almost as high as the snowblower and was almost halfway up the side of the garage door!
I just couldn't believe how much snow there was...
Porter couldn't believe what he was seeing... look at those huge eyes!
Next he decided it was just unbearable and a 'screech' would make it all better!
An action shot of Daddy trying to make some headway on the driveway.

Snow Girl?!
This is what one looks like after coming in from about 50 minutes of shoveling and having already shaken some caked on snow out of my hair!!
It was crazy out there tonight... I couldn't keep up with the shoveling...by the time I was done one section and moved on to the other, you couldn't even tell I had shoveled the first section. We are in for a 'treat' when we wake up in the morning if the snow continues to fall at this rate!
It's started!
The snow has started! Thank goodness we decided to change our flight to a day early because our original flight got cancelled and the snow has been pouring in! More pictures will come, but for now, the birds are loving that Daddy filled up their feeders.
And yes... it's February and we still have our christmas lights on our tree!
They look pretty in the snow!
