One more month and we will have a 2-year old on our hands - holy cow! AJ has so much to say and he wants the world to hear him. His new favorite word is 'Mom' and he loves shouting it out every two seconds until I answer him and then a few times more even when I'm paying attention to him - silly boy! His absolute favorite show is Disney's Little Einsteins.. if I let him sit in front of the tv all day he would watch it non-stop. Every morning he asks for 'Ein' which is his way of saying Einsteins. He's learned the word 'cold' and what it means and will say it all the time even though it's starting to get warmer day by day. It's really cute when he's on his changing table though because he will curl up in the fetal position and say 'cold, I'm cold' and pull me down to hug and hold him. It melts my heart every time! AJ is somewhat aware that he will be a big brother in October - I don't think he fully understands it yet, but he knows something is going on. When I ask him where the baby is he will point to my belly and even give LS2 a kiss - seriously the cutest thing ever! His counting skills are starting to show - when he goes down the slide it's 'one, phree, GO!'. He completely misses the two, but that's ok! And when we try to count to ten, it usually goes a little something like 'one, phree, five, eight, ten'! He's definitely making the association between names and people now. He knows that when we talk about Auntie Lauren and Molly that 'MATT!' is involved too. And whenever we go over Baba's house, he always will mention 'Kay', 'Al' and "Mad' since they are almost always there when we go too. His favorite foods of the month are 'bac' (bacon), hot dogs and meatballs. Yeah - super healthy, I know! At nighttime he always has to have his 'bank' with him, aka his blanket. His favorite blanket is one that Cioci Kimmy made him with the Australian animals on it and green backing. In addition to being able to say 'Baba' and 'Dzia' for Dziadzi, he now says 'Grah' for both Grandma and Grandpa! He loves to be tickled, especially his feet! He is now tall enough to hold onto the railings on staircases and go up them all by himself, which makes Mommy so proud, but yet so sad! And whenever he climbs up our lower level stairs he will start to go up by himself, but will then reach out both arms to his side and face his hands backwards so either Mommy or Daddy will hold onto both of his hands and help guide him up. So adorable!
I'm starting to get a bit teary-eyed as I write this entry because it's my last 'monthly' entry before our little boy turns two. When they say that you never know how much you can love someone until you have a child, it is so stinkin' true! Both Michael and I love Alexander James beyond words. He is the reason we wake up every day and the reason we strive to be better individuals on a daily basis. Thank you AJ for being you and bringing so much light into our lives. We love you - happy twenty-three months!
