Halloween Goodies

So I might have been a little late with giving AJ his Halloween treat bag.  Things have been a bit crazy around here... it's almost like I have a newborn and a two year old now to fill my days! haha

Trunk-or-Treat

Today we headed over to the Franklin Fire House and Library for Trunk-or-Treat.  My cousin, Jen runs the event and it's a Halloween event so clearly us Kocon ladies would be attending with our little ghouls in tow!!

Halloween 2013

We had a quiet morning at home and then went over to Cioci Kimmy's house for some trick or treating!  Chloe and I stayed behind and manned the door at Cioci Kimmy's for all the little trick or treaters, while Cioci Kimmy, Babcia, Dziadzi, Daddy and the girls and AJ went out to get some candy!

Hanging Out

While everyone else was asleep (it was super early in the morning!), I had a little fun with Chloe in her My First Halloween sleeper!

Frito Lay Halloween Party

As we await the arrival of LS2, we decided to keep busy and we brought AJ up to Frito's Halloween Party for the kiddos.  They have a 'haunted house' room that has a bunch of fun and spooky decorations for the kids to run around in and then a room full of yummy treats.  After spending about 20 minutes in the haunted room, we went into the treats room to get a snack and drink, but AJ was having none of it - he wanted to go right back into the haunted room.  So we did - and we spent about another 20 minutes in there.  He was in his glory!!

Our Little Mickey Mouse

'Mom..look..spiders!'

He absolutely loved this little cat.

But his most favorite part of the haunted room was this house..
he literally ran through it about 20 times, if not more!!

Night in with Baba and Dziadzi

Daddy went to the annual Wine and Beer tasting in Plainfield tonight with some co-workers so it was just a me and AJ night.  Instead of staying home and hanging out alone though, we made our way over to Baba and Dziadzi's for some yummy chicken wings and tasty dessert!  After dinner though was when the real fun started...

Dziadzi couldn't read the words so he kept making up stories as he would turn the page... AJ thought it was the most hilarious thing! He had the giggles... and let me tell you, nothing is better than hearing your own child's laughter!

This pic is so blurry, but you can see AJ's larger than life smile if you look close enough!

After story time, it was 'let's pretend we're napping' time!

Using Dziadzi has a human slide!

And lastly, as you can see from the window behind Dziadzi, Baba has all of her Halloween decorations out.  One of the decorations is a big 'glass' ball that has a witch in it that is motion and sound activated.  AJ had been trying all night to get the witch to 'activate' by himself and with a bit of encouragement by Baba, Dziadzi and myself - he was 'ah-chooing' all night long and finally 'ah-chooed' loud enough to get the witch to start all by himself! He was so proud of himself - as was I!

Halloween 2012

Halloween was a bit of a bust this year.  Our whole family usually goes over to Cioci Kimmy and Uncle Jason's house to have some yummy pizza and then go trick-or-treating on their street.  But because we were had been without power for a few days and didn't know when to expect it to come on again, we made alternate plans.  We still were planning on going to Colchester, but we would be trick-or-treating in a different neighborhood that never lost power (those lucky s-o-b's!).  But luckily for us, right before we headed over to Kimmy's house their power came back on.... so we were able to get ready with lights!  (But because we still didn't have power - AJ was the only who got dressed up this year!)  So nice!  We still kept our original plans of going to the new neighborhood though and it worked out quite well!  There weren't that many trick-or-treaters out and the neighborhood was quite nice!

AJ looked absolutely adorable as a kangaroo again and he totally got the gist of how to trick-or-treat.  I was such a proud Mommy!  Once Katie and Allie would either knock on the door or ring the doorbell and the homeowner opened the door, AJ would go right up to the candy basket and pick up a piece of a candy.  He then would bring it over to me as I was holding his treat bag, drop it in and then he would go back for second's!! He's such a silly roo!  For AJ's first 'real' time trick-or-treating, he totally got it and Mommy and Daddy couldn't be anymore proud of him!

Uncle Jason pulled Allie (Miss Snow White) and AJ (Little Kangaroo) around in the Radio Flyer wagon - they loved it!

Trick or Treat!
