13 months!

Our little guy is 13 months old already!!  This was a big month for AJ as he finally learned to walk - all the falls, bumps and bruises were worth it!!  I love watching him walk all around the house - he is just too cute as he 'waddles' and figures out his balance...  And now that he can walk he is getting into everything!  He loves to open up the cabinets underneath the bathroom and kitchen sinks and he has learned where the lids drawer is and loves to take them out and carry them all around the house.  He is starting to 'talk' a little bit more with his two favorite words being 'whoa' and 'wow'!  He is starting to show a bit more interest in books even though he refuses to sit still for his bedtime stories from Daddy.  And he got his first hair cut!  AJ no longer looks like a baby - he looks like a little boy and all prim and proper!

I know I say this almost every month, but it is amazing to see how far he has come in just a little bit over a year.  From being a teensy tiny newborn who couldn't even hold his neck/head up to walking all over the place and exploring all that the world has to offer - our little guy amazes us.  We love you so much Alexander James - you are our world, pumpkin!

[Disclaimer: These pics were taken two days after his 13 month birthday...oops!]

My little guy found a stick.. shocker!

Playing with his new stick

'I guess I'll glance up for a picture'

Checking out the grass

He's always so serious

'Oh.. hi Momma!'

'Ooooh.. what's over there?!'

'I found my stick again!'

Having fun!

He does the silliest things!

Looking down at who knows what!

I love this face!

Again.. he's so darn serious all the time!

Oh there's his smile!

Cheese!

I love this picture - it's like he's thinking and about ready to say something all at the same time!

Another Doggy Friend

After AJ's haircut we went over to Auntie Lauren and Uncle Matt's house to hang out for the day.  While Uncle Matt and Daddy went to see The Dark Knight Rises, Auntie Lauren, AJ and I relaxed, went in the pool and had some down time.  Of course AJ made friends with their dog, Quincy and couldn't stop playing with him until it was time to go home!  They had a grand 'ole time!  Once the boys got back, we ordered some yummy pizza and enjoyed each other's company.  Thanks to Uncle Matt and Auntie Lauren for letting us hangout for the day.. we had lots of fun!

'I'm gonna get you Quincy and your ball too!'

'I got it!'

'Or maybe not...'

Even though he looks so serious - he was having a fun time with the dog!

AJ's 1st Haircut

I've been contemplating bringing AJ to get a haircut because his hair is just getting out of control, but I haven't been ready for it.  I don't want my little boy to grow up yet!  But, alas, after a little heckling from Cioci Kimmy and deep down knowing the hair needed to be tamed - Daddy and I brought AJ to Scissor Kids in Glastonbury this morning for his first haircut.  Peg was wonderful with AJ and made him feel comfortable (for the most part!) throughout the entire cut and she made my little baby look like a toddler!  What a difference a haircut can make!

Before the haircut....

Crazy hair AJ!

...and the haircut journey begins! He picked the red car to sit in.

'Uh..Dad..what's this lady doing to me?!'

'Daddy... help me!'

We tried to calm him down with his favorite toy of the moment - the Sing-a-ma-jig!

'Oh.. it's not so bad, I can see myself in the mirror!'

He was still trying to escape though!

'Daddy.. this lady hasn't stopped yet!'

Peg was wonderful with AJ!

...Still cutting...

'This thing has a horn - let me press it!'

'Look Dad.. I'm driving and beeping the horn!'

Cutting the mohawk...sad!

Trimming up those bangs

Now to tackle the sides...

Daddy collected some of AJ's hair for Grandma to have

AJ wasn't so sure about the razor/shaver thing

All done!

'Dad.. I did it!! I survived!'

Mr. Serious with his new haircut!

'Yay me!'

'I'm so handsome I can't stop looking at myself!'

Yummy!

Cioci Kimmy has been experimenting with half-sour pickle recipes lately and she let us take some home for dinner tonight.  They were super delicious and AJ couldn't get enough of them.  Thanks Cioci Kimmy for the yummy treats!

Yummy pickles, Cioci!

He kept eating and eating and eating!

Pickle juice and yogurt covered face - who can resist that?!

Nom nom nom!

First we play....

Playing on his playground...

...then we sleep!

My Helper

While getting ready for our walk this morning, I found this.....  I think AJ wants to help Mommy walk Timber instead of sitting down in his stroller!
